Web apps are becoming more powerful thanks to HTML5. Media, Graphics, Performance, Desktop Integration, Offline/Storage, and Networking.

Project Dark Room, using HTML5 APIs and is able to be worked with completely offline. Taking advantage of canvas.
Clicker
Clicker.tv - TV guide of the web. Able to search and watch most online and normal broadcast TV. Able to browser categories and much more. Using a lot of HTML5 APIs.
Video on the web
Video is the most popular way to communicate on the web.
There should be a great, free, and open option for video - VP8
VP8 is very efficient with bandwidth. Will be open source and royalty free. This is going to be awesome for the web, live streaming, and more.
Youtube is converting all of their videos to VP8.
VP8 support will be in Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.
This is going to be awesome for not having to worry about licensing and other issues that might be caused with the other codecs like H.264
There needs to be an open format for video on the web and that is going to be Webm (or VP8).
Video drastically improves the experience of a web page.
Guy from Opera saying that access to the web should be a human right in the future…will be interesting to see.
Adobe and HTML5
Dreamweaver adding support for HTML5 and adding some interesting features to show different screens to compare different versions like for mobile, large screens, and small screens.
Code completion for all of the new tags in CSS and HTML5.
I am not a big fan of Dreamweaver, but these features are kind of interesting if you like all of that stuff in your IDE.
Adobe is also adding a lot of integration between their products to make it easy, for example, to make SVGs in illustrator and importing it into Dreamweaver.

VP8 will be added to flash…that is going to be awesome to allow for better support across all of the different browsers.
